What is Kill Switch?

The Kill Switch is a security feature that allows you to instantly suspend all financial transactions associated with your bank account(s) and commercial card(s) in the event of suspected fraud or scams.

 

 

How to activate Kill Switch?

Navigate to PB enterprise webpage or mobile app and locate the Kill Switch option.

 

With just a few simple steps, you can activate the Kill Switch to immediately halt all outgoing transactions.

What happens upon activation of Kill Switch?

The following functions will be disabled:

  • Cash withdrawals from over-the-counter (OTC) or ATM
  • PB enterprise online banking access
  • All outgoing funds transfer transactions, including bill payments and transfers to other accounts
  • Cheques pending clearance
  • e-Standing Instructions for recurring payments will not succeed and will be returned as failed
  • Card transactions, including purchases and online payment
  • All transactions pending approval will hit error during approval by other authoriser(s)

How to Remove Kill Switch Status?

The bank will only remove the Kill Switch status after receiving duly verified instructions from you.

 

The Case Management Team will contact you for verification after the Kill Switch is activated.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Kill Switch Function is available to users with Maker and/or Authoriser roles only.

  1. Navigate to PB enterprise webpage or mobile app and locate the Kill Switch option.
  2. Select “Kill Switch” function and enter your credentials.
  3. Select Authentication Method to continue.
  4. After successful authentication, select account to deactivate.
  5. Select “Next” to proceed. All outgoing transactions of the particular account will be blocked.
The following functions will be disabled:
  • Cash withdrawals from over-the-counter (OTC) or ATM
  • PB enterprise online banking access
  • All outgoing funds transfer transactions, including bill payments and transfers to other accounts
  • Cheques pending clearance
  • e-Standing Instructions for recurring payments will not succeed and will be returned as failed

  • All transactions pending approval will hit error during approval by other authoriser(s)

The Bank will only remove the “Kill Switch” status after receiving duly verified instructions from the customer. Customers may also contact our Case Management Team at 03-2177 3555 or e-mail to corporate.secure@publicbank.com.my to unlock blocked access and reinstate the account restriction.
